Last week, President Trump signed an Executive Order titled “Improving Our Nation Through Better Design” which establishes the first National Design Studio and Chief Design Officer at the White House. That job will be held by Joe Gebbia, co-founder of Airbnb.
We spoke with Shaun Modi and Matt Lira—two people who know a ton about design, government, and the relationship between the two.
Shaun is an entrepreneur, designer, and a longtime friend and collaborator of Joe’s.
And Matt has been a champion of modernization efforts from his years on Capitol Hill and in the White House.
